Young People’s Concert

The Young People’s Concert is an annual event organized by the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. At last year’s concert, over 2,000 fourth-graders attended the Springfield Youth Symphony's 54th Annual Young People’s Concert at High Street Baptist Church. This districtwide event provides students the opportunity to experience a live symphony performance. This year’s concert featured a variety of pieces depicting animals in the wild, from an aquarium to a roaring lion, and allowed students to engage with musicians. As part of the Springfield Symphony’s collaboration with Springfield Public Schools, the event highlights the educational power of fine arts and enriches students' learning experiences. This project was part of my responsibilities as an Intern with the Symphony. They challenged me with creating a logo and visual identity for the concert that would highlight the concert’s mission of education, fine arts, enrichment and fun. The team also wanted the logo to have the look and feel of a field trip, and through the use of bright colors, quirky fonts, simple and bubbly design, I aimed to capture all of these qualities.
